The NRR recently interviewed Representative Ireland (L), to see what he has to say about today's election.
Q1. How do you think you'll do in the election?
A: Obviously I don't know for sure, but I think I'll do alright. Last election I tied with Balloonists for most votes, so evidently there are people who do think I'm a good Congressman (or at least they did three months ago).
Q2. Which Presidential candidate do you support?
A: I support Wusmeinia, but I wish all the best to Elsemere too.
Q3. Why do you support Representative Wusmeinia?
A: I support Wusmeinia because I know he's a good candidate. He's done a marvellous job as both Chief Justice and Congressman, and I think he'd make a fine President.
Q4. If re-elected, what policies do you plan to enact?
A: If reelected, I will continue to stand by my Libertarian ideals with pride. I will ensure this region's government is not allowed to do anything the individual nations of this region cannot do better themselves, and I will ensure the defense of the individual liberty of each citizen. This means holding the government accountable and not being afraid to call them out on things they should not be doing. I will closely monitor its actions and do just that.
Q5. Do you have anything to say about this current term before it ends?
A: I thought it was an overall success. We failed to organize a regional economy, but I think the recess in mid-March allowed for batteries to be recharged and enabled us to have an efficient and effective end to the term. Overall, I'm proud of what we did.
